Salvatore Joseph Tirrito, M.D., F.A.C.C. President and CEO
Dr. Tirrito is an Ironman competitor who enjoys running, cycling and other sports. An authority on sports nutrition, he is a regular contributor to Triathlete Magazine.
Dr. Tirrito is board certified in cardiology, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology and internal medicine. He holds a level III certification in cardiovascular computed tomography. He currently practices at Pima Heart Associates in Tucson, Arizona where he specializes in primary and secondary prevention of heart disease, advanced cardiovascular imaging and vascular medicine.
He graduated from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia in 1998 and is a former Fulbright Scholar.
In addition to working as a cardiologist, Dr. Tirrito runs a weight management and performance clinic at several locations in Southern Arizona. His advice on health, weight loss and exercise can be heard Sundays on The View From Here Show from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. (MST) on Tucson’s News Talk 790 KNST.

Lou Lancero, M.D., F.A.C.C. Vice President and CFO
Dr. Lancero has competed in dozens of regional cycling races since 1992. He also participates in competitive age group triathlons. He recently completed an Ironman 70.3 Triathlon and enjoys playing the Hawaiian slack key guitar.
A founding partner of Pima Heart Associates, Dr. Lancero specializes in care and management of adult cardiology patients.
He received his medical degree in 1982 from the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine and completed his residency in internal medicine at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix. Dr. Lancero also spent two years at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center and another two years at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois completing fellowships in cardiology.
During his career Dr. Lancero has served as chairman in the section of cardiology at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tucson, Arizona, was chairman of the pharmacy and therapeutics committee at Tucson Heart Hospital and section chief for the department of cardiology at Tucson Medical Center.
